Genflow Biosciences Ltd (LSE:GENF, OTCQB:GENFF, FRA:WQ5), the gene therapy developer, has announced the international publication of a Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) application covering variants of the SIRT6 protein for the treatment of muscular diseases, including frailty syndrome and sarcopenia, the age-related loss of muscle mass.
The published application, WO 2026/062177 A1, describes compositions and methods involving SIRT6 variants across nucleic acids, polypeptides, vectors and pharmaceutical formulations intended for muscular disease settings linked to muscle loss and altered endocrine function.
The publication extends Genflow's intellectual property estate beyond its existing longevity and metabolic applications, broadening the potential protective scope of its core SIRT6 platform.
PCT status preserves the company's ability to pursue patent protection across multiple jurisdictions, supporting both development flexibility and potential partnering discussions with pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
Chief executive Eric Leire said the publication marked another step in expanding the company's IP portfolio, adding that extending the SIRT6 platform into frailty and sarcopenia strengthened Genflow's position in areas of high unmet medical need relevant to healthy ageing.
