Active Energy Group PLC (AIM:AEG, OTCID:AEUSF), the digital infrastructure company, has completed the acquisition of the Ghummud grid connection asset in Abu Dhabi.
The asset comprises a 3.5 megavolt-ampere (MVA) live grid connection with an active transformer and associated electrical infrastructure, providing approximately 2.975 megawatts of immediately available power capacity.
Total consideration is £2 million, split equally between new shares issued at 0.11 pence each and deferred cash payable over 12 months.
The company said the asset was acquired at an implied value of approximately £0.57 million per megawatt, a discount to UK replacement costs of between £1 million and £1.5 million per megawatt.
Active Energy said Ghummud has the potential to generate around $1.8 million in annual gross revenue once fully deployed, with free cash flow of between $0.8 million and $0.9 million at steady state, implying a payback period of approximately three years.
The acquisition is the third asset in the company's portfolio alongside an 8 MVA project announced in October 2025 and the Kazna 1.5 MVA site, as it pursues a target of 100 MVA of energised capacity within 18 months.
