Solvonis Therapeutics PLC (LSE:SVNS), the biopharmaceutical company focused on central nervous system disorders, has been granted its second US patent in a week, covering compounds from its post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) discovery programme.
US Patent No. 12,595,269, issued on 7 April 2026 by the United States Patent and Trademark Office, covers a chemically distinct monoamine modulator series targeting serotonin, dopamine and noradrenaline transporter systems.
The patent is a composition-of-matter grant, the most commercially valuable form of pharmaceutical protection, covering the compounds themselves rather than specific uses or manufacturing methods.
It runs until February 2043, subject to maintenance fees and any applicable adjustments.
The award follows US Patent No. 12,590,077, granted on 31 March 2026, and a notice of allowance announced in January, alongside the selection of SVN-114 as lead candidate in March.
PTSD affects more than 20 million people across the UK, US and major European markets, with few approved pharmacological treatments.
