Booking Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:BKNG, XETRA:PCE1) has completed a 25-for-1 stock split, reducing its stock price from above $4,000 to about $170 on Monday.
As part of the split, shareholders of record as of March 6 received 25 shares for every one previously held.
The move is intended to improve liquidity and make the stock more accessible to a broader range of investors, without impacting the company’s overall valuation or fundamentals.
The split is Booking’s first-ever forward split, but its second in history after it completed a 1-for-6 reverse split in 2003.
In conjunction with the split, Booking also increased its authorized common shares from 1 billion to 25 billion.
