Scancell Holdings PLC (AIM:SCLP, OTC:SCNLF, FRA:SCP), th cancer immunotherapy developer, has named David Schilansky as financial adviser and interim chief financial officer as current CFO Sath Nirmalananthan prepares to leave the company.
Nirmalananthan will step down from the board on 24 April to pursue other opportunities, with Schilansky taking on the interim CFO role later in April while a global search for a permanent replacement gets under way.
Schilansky brings substantial healthcare finance experience, having co-headed DBV Technologies from 2011 to 2019 and led its listings on both Nasdaq and Euronext, raising more than $1 billion in the process.
He previously served as group CFO at French pharmaceuticals group Ipsen and most recently as chief executive of Ariceum Therapeutics, and is joining as venture partner and entrepreneur-in-residence at investment firm Redmile Group.
Chief executive Phil L'Huillier said Schilansky's Nasdaq experience would be valuable as Scancell explores a potential US listing alongside financing and partnering discussions around its lead cancer immunotherapy, iSCIB1+, which is advancing towards a Phase 3 trial.
