MustGrow Biologics Corp. (TSX-V:MGRO, OTCQB:MGROF, FRA:0C0) said on Tuesday it will close its wholly owned Canadian marketing and distribution arm NexusBioAg in April, as the company pivots capital toward its proprietary TerraSante biofertility product in the United States.
NexusBioAg, which re-sold and distributed third-party agricultural products to Canadian farmers, operated in a lower-margin and highly price-competitive segment, MustGrow said. The company plans to sell remaining inventory through existing channels in the coming months.
The strategic shift comes as MustGrow seeks to scale production of TerraSante, a mustard-derived organic biofertilizer, to meet rising demand from large US commercial farmers. The company said demand exceeded its available inventory throughout 2025 and has continued to accelerate into 2026.
To support the ramp-up, MustGrow completed a $2 million equity financing in January, with proceeds earmarked in part for building TerraSante inventory. The company has also secured a $2 million credit facility from CIBC, backed by Export Development Canada, to bolster its production capacity.
Rather than investing in its own manufacturing plant, MustGrow said it is leveraging multiple international third-party manufacturers to increase output, allowing it to scale more efficiently while limiting capital expenditures.
The company is also evaluating potential global partnerships to expand TerraSante into international markets.
TerraSante is a wettable powder designed to support soil and microbial health, containing plant-based proteins and carbohydrates that feed soil ecosystems. The product is approved for sale in several US states, including California, Florida, Arizona, Idaho, Oregon and Washington, and is certified under organic standards such as OMRI listing and California’s Organic Input Material program.
MustGrow said its biofertility program focuses on improving soil microbiome health, nutrient and water-use efficiency, and crop yields, positioning TerraSante as a sustainable alternative in modern agriculture.
