First Phosphate identifies new mineralization at Bégin-Lamarche project

First Phosphate Corp. (CSE:PHOS, OTCQX:FRSPF, FRA:KD0, OTC:FPHOY) said on Tuesday it has completed an expanded infill drilling program at its Bégin-Lamarche property in Quebec, confirming continuous phosphate mineralization and identifying new zones.

The company said the campaign, initially launched in October 2025, totalled about 40,000 metres after an additional 10,000 metres of drilling was added to the original 30,000-metre program.

The expanded work aimed to better define newly identified phosphate intersections and test mineralization at depth, according to the company.

Results from the program confirmed extensive and continuous mineralization across the existing resource horizon, while also identifying two new phosphate intersections in the Northern and Southern zones on the eastern side of the known mineralized area.

First Phosphate said it is now processing the full set of drill results, with plans to update the geological model for the Bégin-Lamarche property in the coming weeks.

“We were able to discover, drill and create a significant geological model for the Bégin-Lamarche property all within about 3.5 years,” chief geologist Gilles Laverdiere said in a statement, citing strong mineral continuity and efficient exploration.

Separately, the company announced that Laverdiere will retire following a 48-year career in the mining industry. Steeve Lavoie, who joined First Phosphate in November 2025 and previously worked at Agnico Eagle Mines, will succeed him as chief geologist.

CEO John Passalacqua thanked Laverdiere for his role in advancing the project from early discovery through to resource definition and geological modelling.

The company also granted 300,000 stock options to Lavoie under its equity incentive plan. The options carry an exercise price of C$0.98, expire in December 2028, and vest over two years.
