Cobalt Blue Holdings Ltd CEO Dr Andrew Tong talked with Proactive about a newly announced consortium agreement with US-based Glomar Minerals to advance a proposed polymetallic nodule processing facility in the United States.
Tong explained that the collaboration represents a strategic expansion into the US market, combining Glomar Minerals’ offshore extraction capabilities with Cobalt Blue’s proprietary refining technology developed at its Broken Hill Technology Centre and Kwinana Cobalt Refinery (KCR).
The proposed US facility aims to produce key battery materials including manganese sulfate, cobalt, nickel and copper, supporting domestic supply chains for advanced manufacturing.
