Palantir Technologies Inc (NYSE:PLTR)’s Maven Smart System has been designated a “program of record” by the US Department of Defense, formalizing the company’s artificial intelligence platform as a long-term, funded military capability, according to a report from Reuters.

The designation marks a shift from earlier pilot programs and short-term contracts to a standardized capability expected to be deployed across the US armed forces. Programs of record typically receive stable, multi-year funding and are integrated across service branches, streamlining procurement and adoption.

Nvidia Corp (NASDAQ:NVDA, XETRA:NVD) announced on Monday that it and Emerald AI are collaborating with several major US energy companies to develop a new class of “AI factories” designed to operate as flexible assets on the power grid while accelerating the deployment of large-scale computing infrastructure.

The initiative, announced at CERAWeek in Houston, brings together AES, Constellation, Invenergy, NextEra Energy, Nscale Energy & Power and Vistra. The companies plan to combine AI infrastructure design with power generation and grid integration strategies to reduce the time required to bring data center capacity online and to support grid reliability.

Insmed Incorporated (NASDAQ:INSM) shares jumped almost 8% in early trade on Monday after the company reported positive topline results from a Phase 3b study evaluating its lung disease therapy ARIKAYCE.

The ENCORE trial assessed ARIKAYCE (amikacin liposome inhalation suspension) in combination with standard multidrug therapy versus placebo plus multidrug therapy in patients with newly diagnosed Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) lung infection who had not previously received antibiotics.

Activist investor Elliott Investment Management has amassed a multibillion-dollar stake in chip-design software company Synopsys Inc (NASDAQ:SNPS, XETRA:SYP), according to a report by The Wall Street Journal, citing people familiar with the matter.

The report said Elliott plans to engage with the California-based company with a focus on improving how it monetizes its software and services portfolio.

Financial markets swung violently on Monday after President Donald Trump claimed the US and Iran were in productive talks toward a resolution of Middle East hostilities, only for Tehran to flatly deny any contact had taken place.

Trump wrote on Truth Social that "very good and productive conversations" had taken place in the past two days and so he had instructed the Department of Defense to "postpone any and all military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for a five day period, subject to the success of the ongoing meetings and discussions."

Shares inZenith Energy Ltd (LSE:ZEN, TSX-V:ZEE), the international energy producer listed in London, Oslo and Stockholm, rose 7% to 7.5p after the company announced that construction of a 7 megawatt-peak (MWp) solar portfolio in the Puglia region of southern Italy will begin in July 2026.

The project, comprising three solar plants, is fully financed, with external debt covering 85% of total costs and Zenith contributing approximately €580,500 of the €3.87 million total.

Shares in precious metals miners fell further on Monday as gold and silver prices fell back to their lowest in over three months.

The gold price was down 6% to $4,215 an ounce, wiping out gains since early December. Earlier, the yellow metal had sunk to just over $4100, a level not seen since November.
