Quantum Blockchain Technologies PLC (AIM:QBT, FRA:BYA1) has asked its bondholders to approve a two-year extension to its zero-coupon bonds, as the AIM-listed group also disclosed a setback for one US patent application while marking progress on a separate European filing.
The company, in a statement on Monday, said it wants bondholders to back three changes at a meeting on 15 April: extending the bonds’ maturity to 15 December 2028 from 15 December 2026, lowering the conversion price to £0.02 from £0.03 and removing bondholders’ right to redeem the bonds if the company is delisted. The bonds have a current total face value of €5.5 million. QBT said Eufingest SA, which holds 62.5% of the bonds, intends to vote in favour.
On the intellectual property side, QBT said its US patent application for ASIC Ultra Boost has received a final rejection from the US Patent and Trademark Office after the examiner cited a new document. The company said that does not mean the application will necessarily be refused and that it is working with its patent attorney on a response. It also stressed the development would not affect ongoing tests of the software version of its Method C AI Oracle.
Separately, QBT said its European patent application, titled Message Schedule Arrays, was published on 18 March 2026, a step it said gives the company provisional protection across European Patent Convention contracting states.
