Frontier IP portfolio company Alusid secures Dutch wholesale deal in European expansion push

The recycled-materials tile maker's products will be stocked by a wholesaler serving more than 600 retail outlets across Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg

Frontier IP Group PLC (LSE:FIPP, FRA:8WT), the intellectual property commercialisation specialist, has announced that its portfolio company Alusid has secured a significant distribution agreement in the Netherlands as part of a broader European expansion.

Alusid, which manufactures tiles using more than 95% recycled materials, will have its products stocked by Tegelgroep Nederland, a leading building materials wholesaler operating across Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, known collectively as the Benelux region.

The agreement was brokered through FRONT Materials, a Dutch sustainable materials distributor that struck an initial deal with Alusid last year.

Tegelgroep has already begun stocking Alusid's Mas floor tile range and will sell directly to businesses across the Netherlands, with access to more than 600 retail outlets across Benelux more broadly.

Tegelgroep is part of BME Group, which generates more than 5.5 billion euros annually and operates across Germany, Switzerland, Spain and Portugal in addition to Benelux.

The deal also marks the launch of a sustainability-focused partnership between Front and Tegelgroep under a new label called Ceralution.

Frontier IP holds a 36.16% equity stake in Alusid, which completed a pre-initial public offering (IPO) funding round last year and is continuing to explore a potential stock market listing.

Alusid's existing customers include Starbucks across its Europe, Middle East and Africa operations and Topps Tiles, the UK retail chain, which stocks two Alusid-made ranges.

Alasdair Bremner, Alusid's chief executive, said a stocking order from Tegelgroep represented "a meaningful commitment" given the working capital and warehousing involved, adding it demonstrated "real confidence in Mas and in the demand we're building together."
