Dundas kicks off Rockland follow-up drilling to extend new gold discovery

Dundas Minerals Ltd (ASX:DUN) has started a new reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at its Rockland Gold Project near Kalgoorlie, targeting extensions to a recently defined gold system following encouraging results from its maiden 2025 campaign.

The program will comprise up to 15 holes for approximately 2,500 metres and is designed to step out along strike and at depth from previously identified mineralisation. Drilling will focus on extending the north-south trending gold system, which was outlined over roughly 1 kilometre in earlier work, and remains open in multiple directions.

The new campaign builds directly on Dundas’ January 2025 drilling, which was completed on wide 150-metre spaced sections to depths of about 186 metres. That program confirmed consistent gold mineralisation across the mining lease and established Rockland as a new gold discovery within the company’s Kalgoorlie portfolio.

Key intercepts from the earlier drilling included 6 metres at 3.3 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 78 metres, including 1 metre at 7.5 g/t, 5 metres at 2.3 g/t from 109 metres including 1 metre at 8.1 g/t, and 2 metres at 5.6 g/t from 74 metres, including 1 metre at 14.9 g/t. Additional results such as 9 metres at 1.4 g/t from 69 metres highlighted the broader mineralised envelope.

Importantly, much of the prior drilling was relatively shallow and focused on oxide and transitional material, leaving primary mineralisation in fresh rock largely untested. The current program will therefore also probe deeper extensions beneath known intercepts, to determine the continuity and scale of the system at depth.

“We are delighted to have the drill rig turning at Rockland. The results from our maiden program last year were genuinely exciting. Gold results were obtained over a 1km trend on a granted Mining Lease that has never been mined. That is a rare combination in the Kalgoorlie district," Dundas Minerals managing director, Jonathan Downes said.

"This program is designed to understand the full scale of what has been identified. The mineralisation is open in multiple directions and we believe there is significant potential to grow it materially. We are also looking forward to following up at Baden-Powell, where there is a defined resource that has barely been tested at depth. With gold at current levels, the economics of these projects are more compelling than ever, and we intend to move quickly to demonstrate that value.”

Next steps include testing broader project potential

Dundas will also assess the potential connection between Rockland and the nearby Aquarius prospect to the north, where historical drilling returned 3 metres at 10.2 g/t gold from 109 metres. Establishing continuity between these zones could materially increase the overall strike length of the mineralised system.

The company said the results to date support an emerging interpretation of a structurally controlled gold system, and the current drilling is expected to refine this model while advancing the project toward a maiden mineral resource.

Looking ahead, Dundas flagged further RC drilling at its Baden-Powell Gold Resource, which currently hosts 23,000 ounces and remains open along strike and at depth, as part of broader exploration across its Kalgoorlie tenements.
