Giyani Metals advances K.Hill project in Botswana with new funding, plant data

Giyani Metals Corp (TSX-V:EMM, OTC:CATPF, FRA:KT9) has announced amendments to its existing convertible loan facility with the Industrial Development Corporation of South Africa (IDC), including an additional ZAR29.9 million in funding for its subsidiary, Giyani Metals South Africa.

The funds were drawn on March 9 and received on March 12, increasing the total loan facility to ZAR264.3 million and the combined IDC facilities to ZAR329.9 million.

Giyani said the additional funding supported extended operations at its demonstration plant in Johannesburg, enabling further production of high purity manganese sulphate monohydrate for analysis by potential offtakers. Data from the plant will be incorporated into the company’s definitive feasibility study for its K.Hill project in Botswana, now expected in the second quarter of 2026.

The amended terms also extend the demonstration plant completion deadline to June 30, 2026, provide additional security to the IDC, and include a potential board nomination right for the IDC if it exceeds a 10% equity stake through conversion.

Nigel Robinson, interim chair of the company, thanked IDC for being a supportive partner.

The continued operation of the Demonstration Plant has provided additional learnings that are being incorporated into the DFS. This has resulted in a short delay to the publication of the DFS into Q2 2026,” Robinson added.

“We look forward to announcing these results to the market as soon as they become available which will enable Giyani to ramp up towards securing offtake agreements and advance project financing discussions."
