Galantas Gold kicks off maiden drill programme at Indiana gold project

Galantas Gold Corp (AIM:GAL, TSX-V:GAL, OTCQX:GALKF) has kicked off its first drill programme at the Indiana gold project in Chile, launching a 5,000-metre campaign aimed at tightening mine planning data while also testing for higher-grade extensions that could add to the resource base.

The 17-hole diamond drilling programme at the project near Copiapó will target mineralisation at depths of around 200 to 350 metres below surface.

The work is designed to provide infill and geotechnical data for the mine plan, while also probing down-dip extensions of the Bondadosa and Flor de Espino veins and structural intersections that may host wider and higher-grade zones.

Chief executive Mario Stifano said the campaign goes beyond technical mine design, with holes also targeting “higher grades and thicker zones at vein intersections”.

He said results are expected to feed into a preliminary economic assessment due in May 2026, with the project targeting development in the second half of this year.

Indiana, in Chile’s Atacama region, has an inferred resource of 4.93 million tonnes grading 2.24 grams per tonne gold and 1.31% copper, containing 355,516 ounces of gold and 64,690 tonnes of copper.

Galantas is advancing the project under an option agreement to acquire a 100% interest from Minera Activa.
