HaemaLogiX wins TGA nod for CAR-T Study

HaemaLogiX wins TGA nod for CAR-T Study

HaemaLogiX executive director and chief scientific officer Dr Rosanne Dunn talked with Proactive about the TGA approval for a Phase 1 clinical trial of the company’s novel KMCAR™ T-cell immunotherapy for multiple myeloma.

Dunn explained that this milestone marks the first clinical trial using HaemaLogiX’s CAR-T cell platform, which modifies a patient’s own T cells to directly recognise and kill myeloma cells. She highlighted the therapy’s specificity, noting that it targets a unique marker found only on myeloma cells, which may support a stronger safety profile compared to existing treatments.

Dunn noted that while CAR-T therapies are highly promising, HaemaLogiX’s broader pipeline aims to improve both survival and quality of life for patients with multiple myeloma, a disease still considered incurable.
