Transense Technologies (AIM:TRT) shares moved up in Friday's trade, rising 5.6%, changing hands at 3.7p, after it secured a roughly £0.6 million role in a Cummins-led UK electric drivetrains project, giving the AIM-listed sensing specialist fresh exposure to next-generation zero-emission vehicle development.
The contract forms part of DriveSense, a £2.99 million programme backed by the Advanced Propulsion Centre and part-funded through the UK government’s DRIVE35 Innovation Fund. The project is scheduled to run through to December 2026.
DriveSense will combine Cummins’ electric drive systems know-how with Transense’s SAWsense platform, which uses Surface Acoustic Wave sensors to deliver real-time torque and temperature data from within electric motors.
The partners aim to develop and demonstrate a new generation of motors and power electronics designed to improve power density, efficiency and durability.
