Anglo Asian Mining Plc (LSE:AAZ, OTC:AGXKF, FRA:A4A) told investors it has passed a cumulative production milestone of 1 million gold equivalent ounces from its Azerbaijan operations, underscoring the scale it has built since first bringing Gedabek into production in 2009.
The AIM-listed producer said the threshold was verified at the end of January, and detailed that the underlying total output since the mine start-up comprises roughly 851,000 ounces of gold, 1.9 million ounces of silver and more than 30,000 tonnes of copper.
This achievement is seen as another marker in the company's transition into a broader copper and gold producer.
"Our operational capabilities have evolved significantly over recent years, culminating in becoming a multi-asset producer last year. Congratulations to the whole team for their hard work on this achievement, which has been delivered through the continuous growth and development of our operations," said Stephen Westhead, Anglo Asian vice president.
Anglo Asian became a multi-asset operator in 2025 after bringing the Gilar underground copper-gold mine and the Demirli open-pit copper mine into production. It is expecting 2026 to be a pivotal year, with copper production expected to triple as contributions rise from Gilar and Demirli. Anglo Asian produced 7,915 tonnes of copper and 25,061 ounces of gold in 2025.
