St George Mining Ltd (ASX:SGQ, FRA:S0G, OTC:SGQMF) has reported more thick, high-grade rare earths and niobium intercepts from diamond drilling at its wholly owned Araxá Rare Earths and Niobium Project in Minas Gerais, Brazil.
The latest assays have again highlighted extensive niobium mineralisation at Araxá, with broad high-grade intervals starting from surface. The company said the strong niobium results reflect the project’s location within the Barreiro Carbonatite, next to CBMM’s operations, the world’s largest niobium producer.
Ora Banda Mining Ltd (ASX:OBM, OTC:ESGFF) has delivered a sharp lift in resources at its Round Dam deposit, growing the mineral resource estimate tenfold to 1.33 million ounces and lifting the company’s global resource base by 57% to 3.3 million ounces.
The updated Round Dam mineral resource estimate stands at 25.6 million tonnes at 1.6g/t for 1.33 million ounces, representing a 964% increase on the previous 125,000-ounce resource.
UBS rates all major producers Neutral as Chinese port stockpiles hit their highest level in more than three years
Iron ore prices have recovered to around $105 per tonne after sliding to roughly $96 during the Chinese New Year period, but UBS has flagged a significant supply overhang that could weigh on the majors, including London-listed Rio Tinto Ltd (LSE:RIO, ASX:RIO, OTC:RTNTF) and BHP Group Ltd (LSE:BHP, ASX:BHP).
88 Energy Ltd (AIM:88E, ASX:88E, OTCQB:EEENF, FRA:POQ) told investors it has completed its transactions under a previously established Small Holding Share Sale Facility, wrapping up a process that removed 6,049 small shareholders off the register.
The facility, launched in June, was aimed at shareholders with less than "a marketable parcel" of shares, defined as holdings worth under A$500. It allowed those investors to exit without paying brokerage or handling fees.
Strata Minerals Ltd (ASX:SMX) is preparing to restart drilling at its 100%-owned Zelica Gold Project in Western Australia, with a phase 2 reverse circulation program set to begin in the coming weeks as the company follows up shallow high-grade gold hits from its maiden campaign.
The upcoming program will comprise about 20 holes for 2,500 metres and will focus mainly on step-out drilling designed to test depth extensions to known mineralisation, along with some infill holes intended to help fast-track a maiden JORC 2012-compliant mineral resource estimate.
Fortuna Metals Ltd (ASX:FUN, OTC:FRTMF) has reported further high-grade rutile intersections from first-pass drilling at its Mkanda rutile and graphite project in Malawi, with results confirming widespread mineralisation across multiple large anomalies.
Assays from 40 drillholes and 180 shallow 0–2 metre composite samples have returned several strong intercepts, including 8m at 1.15% rutile, 10m at 0.89% rutile and 10m at 0.83% rutile, with many holes remaining open at depth.
Artificial intelligence may soon run not just on electricity, but on light.
Researchers at the University of Sydney have developed an ultra-compact artificial intelligence chip that performs calculations using photons rather than electrons — allowing computations to occur at the speed of light while potentially using far less energy than conventional hardware.
Imugene Ltd (ASX:IMU, OTC:IUGNF, FRA:ILA) is drawing fresh attention to its experimental cancer therapy azer-cel after a Channel 10 news report highlighted a patient who entered remission following treatment in the company’s clinical trial.
The report followed Central Coast mother Judy Proctor, who had spent nearly a decade battling aggressive blood cancer and had exhausted standard treatment options before enrolling in the trial. Doctors involved in her care said that without another option she may have had only weeks to live.
Dimerix Ltd (ASX:DXB, OTC:SBMJF) has completed dosing the last adult patient in its ACTION3 Phase 3 trial of DMX-200 for focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), with final adult enrolment reaching 333 patients, above the original target of 286.
Adult recruitment is now closed, while paediatric recruitment continues as a separate cohort in the study under arrangements agreed with regulators. Target adult recruitment and dosing had been completed in December 2025, but patients already in screening at that point were allowed to continue through to randomisation and dosing if eligible, resulting in the over-recruitment.
Arafura Rare Earths Ltd (ASX:ARU, OTC:ARAFF, FRA:REB) has progressed execution readiness for its Nolans rare earths project in the Northern Territory, announcing a land access compensation agreement, acquisition of camp infrastructure and a partnership to review alternative heavy rare earth separation technologies.
The company’s subsidiary, Arafura Nolans Project Pty Ltd, has entered into a compensation deed with ATAYF Pastoralists Pty Ltd, the holder of the pastoral lease covering the Nolans project site. As part of the agreement, ATAYF will receive A$4 million in Arafura shares and will also invest A$1.2 million in cash in the company.
Clinical-stage immuno-oncology company Imugene Ltd (ASX:IMU, OTC:IUGNF, FRA:ILA) has reported encouraging early response rates from the CAR T-naïve cohort of its ongoing Phase 1b trial evaluating azer-cel, an off-the-shelf cell therapy being tested across several advanced B-cell cancers.
Early data from the study showed a 100% overall response rate (ORR) in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia or small lymphocytic lymphoma (CLL/SLL), while patients with marginal zone lymphoma (MZL) recorded an 80% ORR, including several complete responses.
