Small Cap Watch: Orthocell, Far East Gold, Pantoro, St George and more....

The S&P/ASX Small Ordinaries Index (ASX: XSO) fell sharply in the latest session, closing at 3,463.20, down 131.60 points (3.66%), while the index has declined 300.60 points (7.99%) over the past five days, reflecting broader weakness across the small-cap segment of the Australian market.

The decline hasn't stopped companies releasing operational and corporate updates across the healthcare, resources and exploration sectors. You can read about the following and more throughout the door.

Orthocell

Orthocell Ltd (ASX:OCC, OTC:ORHHF) has appointed LEDA Orthopaedics as the exclusive distributor for its nerve repair product Remplir™ in the United Kingdom. The appointment follows Orthocell’s December 2025 regulatory submission to the British Standards Institution (BSI) seeking approval to commercialise Remplir in the UK and European Union. The company said the regulatory review process remains on track, with approval anticipated in the September quarter of 2026.

Far East Gold

Far East Gold Ltd (ASX:FEG) reported assay results from drillholes KSD028 to KSD035 at the Sua prospectwithin the Idenburg Gold Project in Papua, Indonesia. The drilling program targeted extensions of previously identified gold-bearing shear zones intersected in historical drilling. According to the company, results confirm that the shear-zone hosted mineralisation extends a further 100 metres down-dip and along strike to the northeast, with the zones remaining open at depth and along strike.

Pantoro Gold

Pantoro Gold Ltd (ASX:PNR, OTC:PNTOF, FRA:RKN) outlined plans to develop a third underground mine at its 100%-owned Norseman Gold Project in Western Australia, with development scheduled to begin in FY27. The program will initially target the high-grade O’Briens Reef, with first ore development expected in the December 2026 quarter. The company expects the orebody to deliver average diluted mill grades exceeding 6 g/t over the current mineral resource life. Development of the Crown South ore zone is planned to begin in the March 2027 quarter, while ongoing drilling is testing extensions of both zones. Pantoro also plans to deploy a fifth underground drill rig in April 2026 to accelerate exploration across the Norseman Mainfield, with an updated mineral resource and ore reserve expected in the September 2026 quarter.

St George Mining

St George Mining Ltd (ASX:SGQ, FRA:S0G, OTC:SGQMF)has strengthened its technical team with the appointment of Carla Grasso as principal geologist for its Araxá rare earths–niobium project in Minas Gerais, Brazil. Grasso joins the company’s in-country team tasked with advancing the 100%-owned Araxá project, which hosts high-grade rare earth element and niobium mineralisation. The appointment forms part of St George’s strategy to progress the project toward development while maintaining a focus on safe and sustainable operations.
