Canadian Overseas Petroleum (LON:COPL, CVE:XOP), focused on offshore sub-Sahara, told investors it brought in around C$7.2mln from a previously announced funding.
This was around the maximum expected since last month, it said it expected to raise between C$4mln and C$7.2mln.
COPL said it issued around 80.2mln shares at C$0.09 each.
The dual listed oil junior sold shares - comprising one share and one warrant - priced at 9 cents each.
Cash proceeds are earmarked for COPL’s ongoing participation in ventures in Namibia and Tanzania, as well as general working capital purposes.
COPL in March entered a new venture with Shoreline Energy to explore opportunities in sub-Saharan Africa. The company, separately, has a stake in a project offshore Liberia alongside ExxonMobil.
COPL shares were unchanged at 3.25p each.
