The ASX Ltd (ASX:ASX) reported total new capital quoted of $4.1 billion in February 2026, down 88% from $33.9 billion in the same month a year earlier, resulting in net new capital quoted falling 92% to $2.6 billion.
Secondary capital raised also declined 88% to $4.1 billion during the month. Despite the sharp monthly drop, financial year-to-date net new capital of $31.3 billion remains 29% higher than the prior corresponding period.
Cash market activity strengthened over the year, with average daily trades increasing 48% and average daily on-market value rising 22% to $8.4 billion.
Market volatility also picked up, with the All Ordinaries’ average daily movement at 0.8% compared with 0.5% a year earlier.
The total number of listed entities on the ASX fell 3% to 2,042, down from 2,101 a year earlier.
