Galileo Resources PLC (AIM:GLR) has identified four priority drill areas at its 100%-owned Ferber Property in Nevada and is moving into permitting and contractor selection with a view to starting reconnaissance drilling in the first half of 2026.
The AIM-listed explorer said a Phase 1 exploration and data integration programme, carried out under an exploration agreement with Bronco Creek Exploration (BCE), produced a targeting report setting out a series of drill-ready prospects. The proposed programme covers more than 3,000 metres of core drilling in up to eight holes, designed to test high- and medium-priority targets across skarn-hosted and porphyry-style mineralisation.
Galileo told investors the targets were generated from new mapping, geochemical and geophysical work and merged with historic datasets. It added that mapping and rock dating have identified Eocene igneous rocks linked to the mineralising hydrothermal system, analogous in age to large Nevada deposit systems including the Battle Mountain complex and Carlin trend deposits.
"The results or our recently completed exploration programme, assisted by BCE, has been very encouraging, generating a number of strong drill targets," commented chief executive and chair Colin Bird.
"We intend to pursue these targets in the coming months on a reconnaissance basis. We will keep the market informed as work progresses."
Historic work in the district includes reported drill intercepts of 12.2 metres at 0.83% copper and 10.7 metres at 0.53 grams per tonne gold, alongside references to intermittent mining in the Martha Washington and other small mines.
