Barclays (LON:BARC), up 3.7%. “Good riddance” is apparently the market’s reaction to the departure of chief executive Antony Jenkins who will be replaced by someone that has a “new set of skills” to take the banking business forward.

Premier Oil (LON:PMO), up 3%. The exploration and production group was upgraded by Deutsche Bank, which repeated a ‘buy’ recommendation was repeated with a newly increased target of 215p (60% higher than the current price of 135p). Better oil prices today have also lifted sentiment more broadly.

A third party that subscribed for 609,500 shares at a price of 23.79p on 22 June 2015 is expected to stump up the money by 17 July 2015, which would leave IOG fully funded until 4 September 2015.

Fevertree Drinks (LON:FEVR), up 9.4%. The fizzy mixers maker had a strong first half to the year with June a particularly good month. The group said results for the full-year are expected to be materially ahead of previous expectations.

Empyrean Energy (LON:EME), up 8.5%. Ongoing drilling operations at its 3% owned Sugarloaf project have delivered a major increase in reserves for the AIM quoted oil firm.
