374Water Inc (NASDAQ:SCWO, FRA:8LL) has announced a series of leadership changes to its executive team and board of directors as the company seeks to accelerate the commercialization of its supercritical water oxidation technology.
The Morrisville, North Carolina-based cleantech company said the moves are intended to enhance operating pace, advance key milestones and position the business for scalable commercial deployment beginning in 2026.
As part of the transition, the board appointed Daniel (Danny) Bogar as president and chief executive officer. Bogar, a long-time member of the company’s senior leadership team, brings more than two decades of executive experience across finance, strategic business development and international operations.
The company said the leadership realignment follows extensive engagement with shareholders, including discussions with a group of long-term investors that filed a Schedule 13D regarding the company’s strategic direction and execution priorities. Management said the organization is aligning leadership, capital allocation and structure around execution, measurable objectives and value creation.
Bogar most recently served as president and chief operating officer of PowerVerde Inc., where he played a role in the merger between PowerVerde and 374Water, completed in April 2021.
According to the company, he helped develop the merger thesis, raise capital and negotiate the transaction. Since the merger, Bogar has overseen corporate development and contributed to the company’s global commercialization strategy.
Earlier in his career, Bogar served as president and CEO of American Green Technology, president and CEO of Stanford Group Company’s broker-dealer, and president of the Americas at CellStar Corporation.
"Mr. Bogar's operating background, global relationships, and commitment to AirSCWO position him to lead 374Water into its next phase of commercialization and growth,” 374Water’s board of directors said in a joint statement.
“We would also like to thank Stephen Jones for his stewardship and leadership during his tenure as interim president and CEO and wish him well."
Bogar expressed excitement about the role. "The mission remains unchanged - we intend to destroy the world's toughest waste streams safely and permanently,” Bogar said.
374Water also added three new directors to its board: Brad Freels, chairman and CEO of Midway; Charles (Chuck) Weiser, a veteran executive and CPA; and Stephen McKnight, a real estate investor and operating executive. They join existing directors Jim Pawloski and Marc Deshusses.
The company said the reconstituted board is focused on scaling the deployment of its AirSCWO platform.
