NEXE Innovations Inc (TSX-V:NEXE, OTC:NEXNF, FRA:FRA: NX5), a company specializing in compostable materials, announced it has shipped 315,000 BPI-certified compostable coffee pods so far this year to two existing customers.
The shipments were made to ecoBeans Coffee and a North American office coffee services distributor. The orders included 20 SKUs, eight of which were newly introduced products, reflecting an expansion of NEXE’s product line and its distribution footprint in both retail and commercial channels.
NEXE said its North American office coffee services partner is reviewing the potential to convert additional brands to the NEXE Pod platform, including portions of its established business.
The company also noted ongoing discussions with multiple national coffee brands that are evaluating a shift to compostable single-serve pods.
“We are building durable revenue streams through repeat demand and product expansion,” NEXE Innovations president and director Ash Guglani said in a statement. “We believe that our engagement with national coffee brands will position NEXE to capture market share in the single-serve coffee market.”
The NEXE Pod is compatible with Keurig brewing systems and certified by the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) for industrial compostability. The certification confirms the pods meet North American standards for disintegration, biodegradation, toxin-free composition, plant-safe compost output, and PFAS-free requirements.
