Caledonia Mining Corporation PLC (AIM:CMCL, NYSE-A:CMCL, VFEX:CMCL) has released a highlights video from its Zimbabwe Mining Forum, after the company hosted around 150 mining executives, investors and officials for a Cape Town breakfast focused on the country’s mining sector.
Chief executive Mark Learmonth said the session enabled “a substantive dialogue between government and industry,” adding that the message from Zimbabwe’s senior officials was clear: “the country is open for business.”
Learmonth added: "Caledonia has long believed in Zimbabwe's potential, and events like this demonstrate that the gap between perception and reality is closing fast."
The event took place on February 10 on the sidelines of the 2026 Investing in Africa Mining Indaba and featured keynote remarks from Pfungwa Kunaka, permanent secretary for the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development, alongside comments from George Guvamatanga, permanent secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion.
Chaired by Victor Gapare, the forum also included an industry panel moderated by Gold Fields non-executive director Michael Rawlinson, with panellists including Caledonia’s Learmonth and representatives from Zimplats, Mimosa Mining, Valterra Platinum, Karo Mining and Kavango Resources.
