St George Mining executive chairman John Prineas talked with Proactive about the latest drilling success at the Araxá Rare Earths and Niobium Project in Brazil, where the company has delivered its thickest mineralised intercept to date.
Prineas highlighted a key milestone, confirming the deepest mineralised intercept yet recorded at the project, extending to 164 metres from surface. He explained that mineralisation at Araxá starts from surface level and is currently modelled to 100 metres, but ongoing drilling is demonstrating high-grade zones well beyond that depth.
The latest drilling is also extending the footprint of high-grade mineralisation laterally to the west, supporting expectations of a substantial mineral resource upgrade. With more than 20 holes currently at the laboratory awaiting assays, St George Mining continues to expand the scale of the system ahead of an updated mineral resource estimate.
