Greatland Resources appoints acting COO as Simon Tyrrell steps down

Greatland Resources Ltd (AIM:GGP, OTC:GRLGF, FRA:G8G, ASX:GGP) has announced a change to its senior leadership team, with chief operating officer Simon Tyrrell resigning from his role.

The company said Tyrrell has stepped down as COO but will remain available until June 30, 2026, to assist with the transition. A formal process to appoint a permanent replacement is now under way.

Otto Richter, who has served as Greatland’s group mining engineer since 2021, has been appointed acting COO effective immediately.

Richter brings more than 25 years’ experience in open pit and underground gold mining. During his time at Greatland, he has been part of the senior leadership team, contributing to operational and mine planning decisions across the company’s asset base. The company said he has a detailed understanding of its operations and development plans.

Managing director Shaun Day thanked Tyrrell for his contribution to the business.

“Simon has been an important part of Greatland’s management team, and we appreciate his positive contribution towards the company’s safety and operational outcomes. I thank Simon for his efforts and commitment to Greatland and wish him well in his future endeavours,” Day said.

The management update comes as Greatland continues to integrate and optimise its flagship Western Australian assets, including the 100%-owned Telfer mine and the adjacent Havieron gold-copper project in the Paterson Province.

In its most recent quarterly report, the company highlighted strong cash flow generation from Telfer and ongoing development progress at Havieron, positioning the combined assets as a long-life gold-copper operation in the East Pilbara region.

Greatland is listed on both the ASX and London’s AIM market (ASX:GGP; AIM:GGP) and operates exclusively in Western Australia. The company’s broader portfolio includes a significant exploration footprint surrounding Telfer and Havieron, targeting additional growth opportunities within the highly prospective Paterson Province.

With Richter stepping into the acting COO role and a search under way for a permanent appointment, the company remains focused on maintaining operational continuity and advancing its production and development plans across its core assets.
