Riversgold Ltd (ASX:RGL, FRA:RGV, OTC:RVSGF) says objections to its application for Mining Lease M25/389, covering the Northern Zone Gold Project, have been settled.
The company is now working with its lawyers to progress the lease toward recommendation and grant.
Northern Zone is an intrusive-hosted gold project within Riversgold’s broader Kalgoorlie Gold Project, about 25 kilometres east of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.
"We finalised the native title agreements with the Marlinyu Ghoorlie Native Title Claimant Group covering our Northern Zone Gold Project at the end of last year and we have now resolved remaining objections clearing the way for the grant of our Mining Lease, M25/389. We anticipate that the Mining Lease will be granted in the coming weeks, which will prove to be a major milestone for our Kalgoorlie Gold Project plans with MEGA Resources," Riversgold chairman David Lenigas said.
Hawkstone drilling to begin in early March at Tambourah
It has already been a busy week for Riversgold, which yesterday finalised planning for an exploration drilling program at the Hawkstone Prospect within its 100%-owned Tambourah Project in Western Australia, with execution expected to begin in early March.
The campaign will be the first exploration drilling in the area in about 55 years and will target an anomalous gold and copper trend identified at Hawkstone.
Riversgold has handed the program to exploration consultants Apex Geoscience for imminent implementation.
Tambourah is about 160 kilometres southeast of Port Hedland and comprises three granted tenements covering roughly 110km², all held 100% by Riversgold.
Access is via the Great Northern Highway and Hillside-Woodstock Road, which passes through the project area.
