AIM-listed digital assessments group will commercialise CANTAB Pathway in India across healthcare providers and consumer markets
Cambridge Cognition Holdings PLC (AIM:COG) has struck an agreement with Ivory, an India-based brain health company, to commercialise its CANTAB Pathway across healthcare and consumer health markets in India.
Ivory will deploy the cognitive screening product across professional healthcare and consumer health segments, using its clinical network and consumer-facing platform, Cambridge Cognition said.
Cambridge Cognition, an AIM-listed neuroscience technology company specialising in digital cognitive assessments, said the partnership was a strategic step in its expansion into international healthcare and consumer markets.
India “represents a significant growth opportunity with a population of approximately 1.47 billion”, the company said.
Cambridge Cognition said estimates indicate that 138 million people in the country are aged over 60 and that as many as 34 million may be living with mild or major cognitive impairment, citing research including the LASI-DAD study published in PLOS One.
Rob Baker, chief executive of Cambridge Cognition, said: “India represents a major opportunity, with a significant unmet need for earlier identification of cognitive impairment.”
“As health-conscious, tech-enabled populations grow, demand for proactive brain health tools is increasing rapidly,” Baker added.
Baker said: “We believe the Ivory team shares our passion and energy to make a difference and has made impressive progress across both consumer and professional healthcare markets.”
“We are excited to partner with them to expand access to CANTAB Pathway in India,” he added.
Ivory said it had published what it described as India’s first Brain Health Report, and said multiple studies suggested that up to 90% of cognitive impairment remains underdiagnosed.
Issac John, chief executive of Ivory, said: “Our founding scientists have known and used CANTAB for many years.”
“We appreciate the strong scientific pedigree of the assessments based on thousands of clinical peer-reviewed papers,” John added.
John said: “The Cambridge Cognition team have built CANTAB Pathway to be exactly the product we need to add to our offering to enable us to pursue our mission of shifting the focus from late-stage diagnosis to proactive brain health solutions.”
Ivory said the assessments were available in English and in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and Kannada, with further language expansion planned.
