Helium One Global Ltd told investors that pump-assisted testing at its ITW-1 well in Tanzania’s southern Rukwa basin delivered a six-fold jump in flow rates versus the 2024 extended well test, as the AIM-listed helium explorer moves to start a formal farmout to bring in a partner.

The company said Electrical Submersible Pump testing ran from 26 January to 14 February, producing more than the equivalent of 250,000 barrels of water over 20 days. Peak flow reached an equivalent 16,400 barrels per day, with average rates around 15,000 bpd, while helium concentrations were sustained at 5.4% (air-corrected) on average and hit a maximum 9.2% at surface.
Helium One said measured gas-water ratio averaged 0.06 m³/m³, with a peak of 0.1 m³/m³ during continuous flow, noting the outcome sat towards the lower end of its expected range. Temperature and salinity readings indicated mixing between Basement-sourced fluids and a shallower Karoo aquifer, which the company said likely diluted GWR and helium concentration during the programme.
Following shut-in, Helium One said wellhead and downhole pressures re-pressurised quickly, which it views as encouraging reservoir support and potential wider connectivity.
The company said it will now evaluate the results and begin a strategic farmout process to identify an industry partner to help advance the southern Rukwa Helium Project towards development.
Smith added: "the operational success of this programme provides a strong foundation for the company to progress discussions with potential industry partners and seek external investment to advance the project towards development. The Company intends to commence this process imminently."
