Prefabricated house for displaced family in Albania is completed and ready for occupation, company says
Eco Buildings Group PLC (AIM:ECOB, FRA:9ZL0) has handed over a pro bono house in Tirana, Albania, built for a family displaced after losing their previous home, the construction technology group said.
It said the property was now ready for occupation after completion of “all internal finishes, fixtures and fittings”.
The house was erected using the company’s prefabricated glass fibre reinforced gypsum load-bearing wall system, which it said enabled the core structure to be delivered “in record time”.
Eco Buildings said the project demonstrated its rapid-deployment capability and showcased a construction platform it described as scalable and low-carbon.
Etrur Albani, executive vice-chairman, said the project followed a request “of a senior government official in Albania”.
“At the request of a senior government official in Albania, Eco Buildings took this opportunity to support the local community and demonstrate the power of our technologically advanced construction platform,” Albani said.
“This project shows what is possible when housing is industrialised: rapid delivery, consistent quality and a materially lower cost base than conventional building,” he added.
“We believe Eco Buildings is positioned to apply this speed and quality globally and at scale, including for humanitarian response, government programmes and social housing,” Albani said.
“Our buildings are environmentally superior, helping reduce carbon emissions while delivering healthier, more breathable living spaces,” he added.
Eco Buildings describeds itself as an innovator in prefabricated, green housing products that uses technology based on glass fibre reinforced gypsum panels.
The group said its modular housing solutions were aimed at both affordable and high-end housing markets and were designed to combine cost efficiency, speed of construction and sustainability.
