Gem Resources seals first Bitcoin allocation under treasury policy

Gem Resources PLC told investors it has completed its first allocation into Bitcoin, buying 9 BTC as it begins implementing the Cryptocurrency and Digital Asset Treasury Policy it announced in October 2025.

The emerald mining and development company said its wholly owned subsidiary Gem Resources Hong Kong acquired the Bitcoin via multiple trades on HashKey Exchange, a regulated digital asset trading platform in Hong Kong. Total execution consideration was about US$633,200 excluding fees, with total cash outlay of roughly US$634,685 including trading fees.

Gem Resources said the all-in average acquisition price was about US$70,520 per Bitcoin, including fees, and that the position was funded entirely from existing group cash resources. The board said it will continue to review cash reserves to ensure sufficient working capital is held in cash for near-term costs.

Executive chairman Louis Ching said the company “capitalised on the recent dip” in Bitcoin to establish a modest, controlled position, while stressing the group’s principal activities remain focused on exploration, development and mining
