Mining

Griffin Mining shares climb as it reports start of production from gold-only stopes

Griffin Mining (LSE:GFM) shares climbed in AIM trading on Thursday, rising 7% to 342.55p, after reporting that gold production had begun in Zone III of the Yuan Long orebody at its Caijiaying Mine.

The company noted that it is transitioning into what it described as sustained output from gold-only stopes. The early stopes are currently contributing around 5–10% of total daily Caijiaying production, establishing gold as a recurring source of plant feed, according to the statement.

Griffin said the Yuan Long system remains open to the south and at depth, with further underground development and diamond drilling planned to widen the production footprint.

The miner also pointed to a series of high-grade intercepts at mineable widths from ongoing drilling.
