Alkane launches US ADR program to broaden North American investor base

Alkane Resources Ltd (ASX:ALK, OTC:ALKEF) has established a sponsored Level 1 American Depositary Receipts (ADR) program in a move aimed at lifting its profile and liquidity among North American investors.

The company confirmed the program became available for trading in the United States on February 11, 2026, and will trade over the counter (OTC) under the ticker ALKRY. One ADR represents 10 Alkane ordinary shares.

Alkane said the initiative is designed to provide US-based investors with a simpler, US dollar-denominated security that trades and settles through a US clearing system. The company emphasised that the ADR facility does not involve the issue of new shares or the raising of fresh capital.

Under the structure, each ADR issued is backed by underlying Alkane shares held in custody, with The Bank of New York Mellon appointed as depositary bank. BNY Mellon will facilitate the issuance and cancellation of ADRs in accordance with market participant instructions, operating under a deposit agreement lodged with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

Managing director Nic Earner said the move follows feedback from North American investors seeking easier access to Alkane’s equity.

“The establishment of an ADR program for Alkane’s OTC trading comes in response to feedback from North American investors that it would enhance Alkane’s attractiveness to potential investors and should have positive impact on liquidity,” Earner said.

“Alkane looks forward to ongoing engagement with global investors in what is an exciting time for both our company and the gold industry in general.”

Broader investor push post-merger

The ADR launch forms part of Alkane’s broader push to expand its institutional shareholder base following the completion of its merger with Mandalay Resources in August 2025.

Earner noted that Alkane has significantly broadened its institutional investor base since that transaction and is approaching the requirements for inclusion in the ASX 200 index, a development that could further increase passive and institutional flows in 2026.

Alkane is dual-listed on the ASX and TSX and already trades on the OTCQX market in the US under the symbol ALKEF. The new ADR structure is intended to streamline US investor access by providing a familiar ADR framework rather than direct foreign ordinary share trading.

Portfolio across Australia and Sweden

Alkane is an Australian-based gold and antimony producer with three operating mines across Australia and Sweden.

Its wholly owned producing assets include:

  • The Tomingley open pit and underground gold mine in central west New South Wales;
  • The Costerfield underground gold and antimony operation in Victoria; and
  • The Björkdal underground gold mine in northern Sweden.

The company continues near-mine and regional exploration at each operation, targeting resource growth and mine life extensions.

Beyond its producing portfolio, Alkane also owns the large Boda-Kaiser gold-copper porphyry project in central west NSW, where a scoping study has outlined an economic development pathway. Ongoing exploration within the surrounding Northern Molong Porphyry Project is aimed at further defining the district-scale potential.

With gold prices remaining supportive and antimony attracting renewed attention as a critical mineral, the ADR program positions Alkane to tap deeper pools of North American capital as it advances both its producing assets and longer-term growth pipeline.
