Janus Electric secures further California orders via EVC as US expansion continues

Janus Electric Holdings Ltd (ASX:JNS) has received further orders in California for its heavy-vehicle electrification system via Electric Vehicle Choice (EVC), its authorised dealer in the state, as the company continues to build out its US commercial footprint.

The order comprises two Janus Conversion Modules (JCMs), three pairs of batteries and a Janus Charge and Change Station, with a total value of about A$1.6 million.

Under the agreed terms, 50% of the order value is payable once HVIP voucher approval is received, with the balance payable before shipping. Delivery is expected in Q2 CY2026, subject to HVIP program funding, customer eligibility confirmation and the approval timeline.

“Securing further orders in California through EVC is an important progression for Janus as we expand our US footprint,” Janus Electric CEO Ben Hutt said. “Following our initial customer orders in California, we are now seeing dealer-led orders emerge, supported by favourable regulatory conditions and incentives. This reinforces our view that Janus’ conversion and charging solution is well-suited to US heavy-vehicle duty cycles and positions the Company to continue building a scalable presence in North America.”

Dealer channel and California momentum

The latest order set is the first placed by EVC since its appointment as a Janus authorised dealer, and follows the company’s earlier activity in the Californian market. The dealer channel is an important part of Janus’ North American strategy, targeting fleet operators seeking to decarbonise heavy-haulage operations.

The order follows Janus’ September 2025 California order with Ability Tri-Modal Transportation, which the company described as its initial commercial entry into the US drayage market. Janus has previously flagged the drayage segment as a potential 26,000-truck opportunity. The Ability Tri-Modal conversion kits are due to arrive in February, with the converted trucks expected to be fully operational in Q2 2026.

North America discussions

Founder and COO Lex Forsyth is currently in North America, meeting fleet operators and infrastructure providers to support deployments, progress additional orders and advance discussions around future charging and battery swap infrastructure.
