Toll Group has become the latest company to sign up to use Seeing Machines’ (LON:SEE) driver safety technology.
The Aussie transport and logistics company will integrate Seeing Machines’ DSS technology, which monitors a vehicle operator’s face for tell-tale signs of fatigue or distraction, into its fleet of vehicles.
"Toll has been a key supporter of Seeing Machines, being one of the earliest adopters of the Driver Safety System," Michael Caggiano, Seeing Machines’ general manager of fleet commercial management was reported as saying.
"The agreement to release the new fleet product into their operations confirms that this solution is what the fleet industry needs and wants,” Caggiano claimed.
Earlier today the AIM-listed driver safety firm announced its in-cab fatigue monitors are to be rolled out by earth-moving equipment giant Caterpillar in risk assessment programmes across its full range of customers.
The vehicle giant has already installed Seeing Machines’ DSS technology in mining fleets for companies such as BHP Billiton, but this initiative will broaden the scope to other off-road uses such as construction and quarrying.
Shares in Seeing Machines were up 13.5% at 5.25p in lunchtime trading in a falling market.
