Wishbone Gold shares rise as explorer expands gold footprint in WA

Wishbone Gold PLC shares traded higher in Tuesday morning's trade, up 5.2% at 71p, after revealing it had expanded its ground near Greatland Gold’s Telfer operation, after winning a contested ballot for 67km² of crown land about 25 kilometres north-west of Telfer in Western Australia.

The explorer said the area was applied for by multiple parties, including ASX-listed Antipa Minerals, and the exploration licence application E45/7169 will now move “towards grant”.

Once granted, Wishbone expects the tenement to be added to its existing access agreement with Greatland Gold and an existing Heritage Agreement, with the company noting access via the main road between Telfer and Marble Bar.

WA director Ed Mead called it “a terrific result” after the WA Mines Department ballot.

Attention now shifts to drilling and results flow. Wishbone said assays are due shortly from its 2025 drill program at the Red Setter copper-gold project, while Apex Geoscience progresses geological and structural interpretation ahead of the 2026 drilling season expected in April.
