374Water Inc (NASDAQ:SCWO, FRA:8LL) announced that it has appointed Stephen McKnight to its board of directors, as the cleantech company continues to advance its corporate growth strategy.
McKnight is a principal and co-founder of Pitt Southwest Investors, a private real estate and development firm established in 1989.
According to the company, he brings experience in commercial banking, underwriting, and risk management from his 14-year tenure at Mellon Bank, where he held senior roles in the commercial real estate department. His real estate career includes acquiring and syndicating apartment, office, condominium, and land investments totaling more than 2.5 million square feet.
He has also been involved in analyzing and investing in private companies across various industries and has served on several boards and advisory groups, including the St. Margaret Memorial Hospital Foundation Board, the Advisory Board of Wilmington Trust FSB, and as a director of Wilmington Trust Company’s federal savings bank subsidiary.
James Pawloski, 374Water lead independent director, welcomed McKnight to the board.
"His deep expertise in banking, investment strategy, and disciplined capital allocation aligns perfectly with our focus on commercializing AirSCWO technology and scaling our Waste Destruction Services business,” Pawloski said. “Steve brings strong financial insight and a deep understanding of value creation that will support our next phase of growth."
McKnight said he was honored to join the company’s board at what he described as “an inflection point” for 374Water.
"As a long-time investor, I have been an advocate for the company and the potential for AirSCWO technology to transform the waste destruction landscape,” he said. "I look forward to working with the board and management team to deliver sustainable value to our shareholders."
