Valereum strengthens and shuffles board as it works toward US listing

Valereum PLC told investors it has appointed Pieter Scholtz and Gerhardus “Gerhard” Kotzee as executive directors, with immediate effect, to support plans for a listing in the United States.

Scholtz and Kotzee are directors of Quorium Global Photonics SPC, a strategic shareholder owning 49.9% of the company.

"These appointments are directly aligned with the company's strategic objective of securing a US listing. We are now actively pursuing entry into the US capital markets and have structured the Board, governance and advisory framework accordingly," Valereum chair James Bannon said.

"We believe a US listing will significantly enhance Valereum's institutional profile, access to capital and long-term shareholder value as we scale our position in the tokenised digital markets sector."

Bannon, meanwhile, highlighted that Scholtz and Kotzee bring experience across global capital markets, regulation and financial technology.

"[The appointments] materially strengthen Valereum's leadership as we enter our next phase of growth," he added.

Valereum also announced that Matthew Farnum-Schneider (strategic advisor) will be appointed as a non-executive director with immediate effect, subject to satisfactory completion of due diligence, and Grant Gischen (currently non-exec) will be appointed as an executive director immediately after Farnum-Schneider moves from exec to non-exec.
