AuMEGA Metals outlines district-scale growth strategy at Cape Ray as exploration pipeline expands

AuMEGA Metals Ltd (ASX:AAM, TSX:AUM, OTCQB:AUMMF, FRA:FRA: MA30) has flagged a growing opportunity across its Cape Ray Project in southwestern Newfoundland, pointing to an established gold mineral resource base and a widening pipeline of exploration targets as it assesses the next phase of growth.

In a strategic update, the ASX- and TSX Venture-listed explorer said its defined gold mineral resource, completed in 2023 using a conservative gold price of US$1,750 per ounce, provides a strong technical and valuation foundation at a time when bullion prices are trading at record levels.

The Cape Ray mineral resource currently comprises 6.2 million tonnes at 2.25 g/t gold for 450,000 ounces in the Indicated category, plus a further 3.4 million tonnes at 1.44 g/t gold for 160,000 ounces Inferred.

Managing director and chief executive Sam Pazuki said the company believes its current market valuation does not reflect either the existing ounces at Cape Ray or the scale of exploration upside emerging across the broader district.

“Gold and silver prices are at record levels, driving a broad re-rating across the mining sector,” Pazuki said. “Yet few companies, particularly in Newfoundland, have a defined mineral resource that provides a tangible foundation for value.”

He noted that Cape Ray sits on the same regional gold structure that hosts Equinox Gold’s Valentine Gold Mine, the largest gold mine in Newfoundland.

“Our mineral resource and district-scale landholding are directly contiguous with this structure, providing a rare combination of existing ounces and meaningful exploration upside. What excites us most today is how much our 2025 exploration programs expanded that opportunity.”

Potential mineral resource update under review

AuMEGA said it is assessing the potential for a mineral resource update that could better reflect current market conditions and the work completed since the 2023 estimate.

This review may incorporate higher gold price assumptions, additional drilling, re-logging of historic core, refined geological and structural interpretation, and the possible inclusion of silver. Earlier resource estimates at Cape Ray included silver, but it was excluded from the most recent update due to incomplete sampling at the time.

The company stressed that its strategy remains exploration-led, with no near-term move towards development, and any future technical or economic studies would be contingent on further exploration success.

New exploration frontiers emerge

A key focus of the update was the outcome of AuMEGA’s expanded 2025 exploration programs, which were designed to push beyond the boundaries of known mineralisation.

This work identified multiple high-priority targets across the Cape Ray district, including the Isle aux Morts Granite (IMG), a large intrusive body immediately adjacent to the existing resource corridor.

Integrated geochemical and geophysical data suggest the IMG may represent a previously unrecognised intrusive-related gold system, opening a new discovery window close to established mineralisation.

AuMEGA said the geological characteristics observed share similarities with major intrusive-related systems such as Snowline Gold’s Valley discoveries in the Yukon and De Grey Mining’s Hemi deposit in Western Australia.

While still at an early stage, the company believes this reinterpretation materially expands the exploration search space across Cape Ray.

Drilling planned for 2026

Following the 2025 field season, AuMEGA has outlined a focused diamond drilling campaign for spring and summer 2026, targeting priority prospects at Cape Ray West and within the IMG.

With a defined resource base, district-scale landholding contiguous with a producing gold mine, and a growing pipeline of drill-ready targets, AuMEGA says Cape Ray offers “deep value” with significant potential for exploration-driven growth.

The company controls a large land package along the Cape Ray–Valentine shear zone in Newfoundland, a structure that remains underexplored despite hosting some of the province’s most significant gold discoveries.
