Kairos Minerals Ltd (ASX:KAI, OTCQB:KAIFF, FRA:YAJ) has confirmed a significant extension to gold mineralisation at its Mt York Gold Project in Western Australia’s Pilbara, with maiden drilling at the Main Hill Extension outlining broad zones of near-surface mineralisation over a further 1.2 kilometres of strike.
The latest results extend the Mt York gold trend to more than 4.2 kilometres and are set to be incorporated into an updated mineral resource estimate planned for the first half of calendar 2026.
The Main Hill Extension prospect directly adjoins the existing 1.4-million-ounce Mt York resource and marks the first systematic resource-style drilling over the area, for which Kairos gained drilling access in October last year under a mineral rights agreement.

New prospect delivers early high-grade results
Results from 35 of 46 completed drill holes returned multiple encouraging intercepts, including:
- 16 metres at 2.60 grams per tonne gold from 143 metres, including 2 metres at 12.45 g/t (25MYDD082)
- 9 metres at 3.92 g/t gold from 97 metres (25MYDD072)
- 9 metres at 2.66 g/t gold from 27 metres, including 3 metres at 4.82 g/t (25MYRC026)
- 25 metres at 0.72 g/t gold from 97 metres (25MYRC028)
The drilling was shallow, with holes less than 150 metres deep, and spaced at around 100 metres along strike. It targeted near-surface mineralisation within banded iron formation (BIF) units — the same host rocks that support mineralisation at the nearby Main Hill, Breccia Hill and Gossan Hill deposits.

Multiple mineralised BIF units point to upside
Importantly, several holes intersected more than one mineralised BIF unit, suggesting structural repetition and a larger mineralised system than previously recognised.
Hole 25MYDD072 intersected two separate mineralised BIF units, opening up a newly identified gold-bearing horizon that will be followed up in future drilling. Kairos said this structural complexity mirrors the geology elsewhere along the Main Trend, where fold closures have proven important in defining thicker and higher-grade gold zones.

“These initial Kairos drill results from Mt York’s Main Hill Extension confirm continuation of mineralisation in the banded iron formation rocks from Main Hill to the north, and we are finalising the last few results before updating the resource estimate over the whole 4,200m strike length of the deposit,” managing director Dr Peter Turner said.
“Judging by the quality of the results that we have announced throughout 2025, we are confident in upgrading the size and confidence level of the resource as we now turn our attention to development studies for Mt York.”

Resource update and development focus
The Main Hill Extension drilling forms part of a broader 27,000-metre program completed across Mt York during 2025, all of which will be included in the upcoming resource update. Geological interpretation and wireframing for the new mineral resource estimate are already underway.
Kairos said the results also highlight potential for additional near-surface, higher-grade mineralisation that could positively influence project economics as development studies advance.
With around $25 million in cash, the company is well funded to progress further infill and extension drilling, alongside feasibility and prefeasibility studies over its recently granted mining lease at Mt York.
Planning is already underway for follow-up drilling at Main Hill Extension in 2026, targeting both shallow extensions and deeper positions where wide mineralised zones remain untested.
Building scale at Mt York
The confirmation of gold mineralisation over a continuous 4.2-kilometre strike strengthens Mt York’s position as a growing Pilbara gold project, with Kairos aiming to lift both the scale and confidence of the resource as it transitions towards development planning.
Any ounces added from Main Hill Extension will directly contribute to the existing Mt York resource base, reinforcing the project’s long-term growth potential.
