Quantum Data Energy climbs on record power output from first flexible power site

Shares in Quantum Data Energy PLC rose 10% to 4.01p after the company reported record monthly electricity generation and revenues from its flexible gas-powered site, and confirmed progress on a third flexible power project.

The Pyebridge 8.1MW gas-powered facility delivered around 1.8GWh of electricity in January – its highest monthly output to date – and generated power for an average of 18 hours a day. That compares with an average of 11 hours a day over the past year.

Over the 12 months to January 2026, Pyebridge produced 11.6GWh, up 64% on the prior year. Average revenues were about £290,000 per megawatt, with electricity sold at £127/MWh – around 62% above the market average.

Quantum said the performance reflects strong and growing demand for flexible generation, which can help balance the grid when intermittent renewable sources like wind or solar fall short.

The company also said it is close to securing funding for its third project, the 5MW Bordesley site, in partnership with Power Balancing Services. Construction is expected to start shortly, with commercial operations targeted for the fourth quarter.

A second site, the 7.5 MW flexible generation power project at Hindlip, is fully funded in partnership with Powertree and currently in construction with commissioning, commercial operations and income generation expected in the first half of this year.

“We are very proud of the ongoing sterling performance of our Pyebridge asset,” said chief executive Pieter Krügel.
