Market movers: Disney, Oracle, Eldorado Gold, AMD...

Palantir Technologies (NASDAQ:PLTR) reported fourth quarter earnings and revenue that exceeded Wall Street expectations on Monday, sending its shares up more than 8% post-earnings.

The data analytics and artificial intelligence software company said revenue rose 70% year over year to about $1.4 billion, surpassing the $1.3 billion consensus estimate.

Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD) will report its fourth quarter earnings on Tuesday, with Wedbush analysts expecting a solid performance from the company, driven by its CPU and services businesses.

Heading into the report, Wedbush has maintained an 'Outperform' rating on AMD with a 12-month price target of $290. Shares traded up 5% at $249 on Monday afternoon.

Eldorado Gold Corp (TSX:ELD) announced it has reached an agreement to acquire Foran Mining Corporation (TSX-V:FOM, OTCQX:FMCXF) in a transaction valued at approximately C$3.8 billion, including debt.

Under the terms of the agreement, Foran shareholders will receive 0.1128 Eldorado shares plus US$0.01 in cash for each Foran share, representing no premium relative to Foran’s recent closing price.

Oracle Corp (NYSE:ORCL, XETRA:ORC) announced plans to raise $45 billion to $50 billion in 2026 to finance the expansion of its Oracle Cloud Infrastructure business.

The company said the fundraising is intended to support additional capacity to meet contracted demand from major customers, including AMD, Meta, NVIDIA, OpenAI, TikTok, and xAI.

Walt Disney Co (NYSE:DIS, XETRA:WDP) shares fell more than 6% on Monday after the company issued weaker-than-expected fiscal second quarter guidance, overshadowing a modest beat for the fiscal first quarter.

Disney guided to only modest operating income growth in Experiences, citing international visitation headwinds at domestic parks, pre-launch costs for the Disney Adventure cruise ship, and pre-opening expenses for the World of Frozen attraction at Disneyland Paris.

Shares in mining companies led the falls in London on Monday, as gold, silver, copper and other commodities resumed the meltdown that began last week, just a day after the metals had reached record highs.

The spot price of gold dropped to $4,649.9 an ounce, another 4.9% drop on the day, and silver slumped 7.6% to $78.18/oz.

Ethernity Networks Ltd (AIM:ENET, OTCQB:ENETF) shares dropped 21% to 0.0044p in early trading after the company launched a heavily discounted placing and warned it may need to raise more cash later this year.

The data processing technology group is raising £367,500 by issuing over 9.1 billion new shares at 0.004p each – a 29% discount to the previous closing price.
