Begbies Traynor Group (AIM:BEG) will rebrand as BTG Consulting PLC, which the company said reflected its transition from an insolvency specialist to a diversified financial and real estate advisory business.
The new name will take effect upon approval from Companies House, with trading under the updated ticker 'BTG' to follow.
The group will now operate under eight defined service lines, including restructuring, financial advisory, agency and auctions, and project development.
While the group name will change, sub-brands 'BTG Begbies Traynor' and 'BTG Eddisons' will be retained for its insolvency and property arms, preserving brand equity in established markets.
The group will continue to report results under two divisions: restructuring and advisory, and real estate.
CEO Mark Fry called it "an exciting development for the group" that reflects the group becoming a broad-based advisory business over recent years.
Executive chairman Ric Traynor said: "The updated branding is better aligned with the broad range of services and capabilities available within the group and our ability to assist our clients across multiple areas of expertise."
There was another BTG (LSE:BTG) listed in London until 2019, a developer of surgical devices gobbled up by US giant Boston Scientific.
