A mixed news bag with oil titan BP (LON:BP.) taking the stage late on.
Here are some standouts..
Audioboom (LON:BOOM) agreed a tie-up with a major American radio network.
Chief executive Rob Proctor described the Cumulus deal as “transformational” and “a very big step towards revenue generation”.
“This partnership represents a major step-change in our plans for monetisation, and as we see the full roll-out of our platform across the entire USA we expect to benefit from a considerable increase in monthly listens and registered users but also a steady flow of advertising revenues,” Proctor said.
Petroceltic International (LON:PCI) has dismissed criticism of its proposed US$175mln bond financing.
Activist shareholder Worldview Capital Management, which owns 29% of Petroceltic, today called on the company to call an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) to allow shareholders to “decide the fate” of the proposed financing
Strategic Minerals (LON:SML) intends to acquire more small resource projects with near term cash flows, that supply local markets.
John Peters, managing director, outlined the strategy at the company’s annual meeting, adding the aim is to become a profitable mining company in two to three years.
In other mining news, Metal Tiger (LON:MTR) shares nudged higher as it unveiled further results indicating a substantial tungsten deposit at the Logrosán site in Spain.
First phase drilling is now complete at Target 2 and tungsten mineralisation has been confirmed over an increased strike length of 450 metres, while tin was encountered in two holes at the south-west end of the target, the firm noted.
Toronto listed gold, silver and antimony miner Mandalay Resources (TSE:MND) has agreed a new deal with striking miners at its Cerro Bayo operation in Chile.
The new collective agreement runs for two years. A separate deal is being negotiated with the representatives of plant operators and is expected to be agreed shortly.
In other news, Premaitha Health (LON:NIPT) said it was confident of seeing off a patent infringement action as it raised £8mln to roll-out its diagnostic test for pregnant women.
A group of companies, including US-based Illumina, started legal proceedings in March alleging that Premaitha’s IONA test infringed two of their UK patents.
Premaitha today said the case has not been moved forward since May and the delay by the claimants in asserting their rights means that it is unlikely they will apply for a pre-trial injunction.
Kefi shares were unchanged today at 0.85p as it emerged Jeff Rayner, Kefi Minerals’ (LON:KEFI) exploration director, has bought one million shares in the gold explorer at around 0.845p each.
It takes his stake to 0.84% or 14.68mln shares not including options.
