European Lithium reports ‘outstanding’ rare earth continuity at Tanbreez in first 2025 assays

European Lithium Ltd (ASX:EUR, OTCQB:EULIF) has reported a strong opening set of assay results from its 2025 diamond drilling program at the Tanbreez Rare Earths Project in southern Greenland, reinforcing the scale, continuity and multi-commodity nature of the globally significant peralkaline-hosted system.

The first results, from the Fjord and Upper Fjord areas, confirm consistent total rare earth oxide plus yttrium (TREO+Y) grades across broad intervals, with a substantial heavy rare earth component and a recurring suite of strategic metals including gallium, hafnium, yttrium and cerium.

European Lithium said the outcomes are expected to feed directly into a revised Mineral Resource Estimate and advance mine planning and optimisation studies at Tanbreez, which is operated by its US-listed partner Critical Metals Corp.

Consistent grades across wide intercepts

Assays from 13 of the 20 holes completed during the 2025 campaign returned TREO+Y grades ranging between 0.35% and 0.77%, with heavy rare earth oxides accounting for roughly 25–29% of the total rare earth content.

Several holes delivered long, near-surface mineralised intervals, including:

  • 25-D01: 165.76m at 0.47% TREO+Y from 28m and 24m at 0.48% from surface
  • 25-D02: 187m at 0.48% TREO+Y from surface
  • 25-D03: 188m at 0.42% TREO+Y from 44m and 37.55m at 0.41% from 2.45m
  • 25-D04: Two broad zones of 126.21m at 0.44% and 124.4m at 0.39% TREO+Y

Across the Fjord and Upper Fjord areas, mineralisation was confirmed to occur consistently close to surface, with strong lateral and vertical continuity and no clear closure along strike or at depth.

Strategic metals add multi-commodity upside

Beyond rare earths, the drilling continues to highlight the presence of strategically important by-product metals, supporting Tanbreez’s multi-commodity potential.

Typical values across the new intercepts include gallium oxide around 100 parts per million, hafnium oxide near 300 ppm, yttrium oxide around 600–700 ppm and cerium oxide averaging around 1,500 ppm. Zirconium grades commonly exceeded 1%, with associated niobium and tantalum also present.

European Lithium said the consistent occurrence of these elements further strengthens the project’s strategic profile amid growing Western demand for diversified critical mineral supply chains.

Upper Fjord extension remains open

A key focus of the 2025 program was extending mineralisation intersected in deep diamond hole K-24, which in 2024 returned more than 200m at 0.48% TREO+Y in the Upper Fjord area.

The latest results confirm mineralisation extends northeast from K-24 for at least 1 kilometre, with true thickness exceeding 200 metres above the main Fjord Deposit. Step-out drilling in Area B, including vertical hole 25-D09 to 311 metres’ depth, has also identified further mineralised intervals, prompting plans for additional follow-up drilling.

Resource update and next steps

European Lithium executive chairman Tony Sage said the 2025 results demonstrate consistent rare earth mineralisation across both the Fjord and Upper Fjord areas.

“These results are expected to contribute additional mineralised tonnage to the existing Hill and Lower Fjord deposits and further support the scale and continuity of the Tanbreez project,” he said. “Our external resource and mining consultants are currently validating the drilling data and progressing pre-development pit optimisation and Mineral Resource studies.”

Lithium noted that further assay results from the 2025 field season, along with selective historic sampling, are still pending.

Once received and interpreted, the full dataset will inform planning for the 2026 Greenland field season as the Tanbreez project continues to move toward development.
