European Lithium-linked CRML brings laboratory-grade REE analysis on site at Tanbreez

European Lithium Ltd (ASX:EUR, OTCQB:EULIF) has flagged another step forward at its Greenland rare earths exposure after US-listed partner Critical Metals Corp. ordered a fully integrated, mobile assay laboratory to support development work at the Tanbreez project.

Critical Metals has approved and ordered a turnkey Integrated Mobile Geochemical Analysis Centre from Bromet, at a cost of about US$1 million, to deliver on-site rare earth element (REE) analysis for drilling, pilot plant activities and broader project development.

The laboratory is expected to be acquired by Critical Metals and operated exclusively for the company by trained Greenlandic personnel, with results overseen and validated by an independent, appropriately accredited third party.

Faster data, fewer delays

The mobile facility is designed to provide near real-time, laboratory-grade geochemical results directly at site, with full REE analyses generated in about 80 minutes. That compares with much longer turnaround times associated with shipping samples to off-site laboratories.

At the core of the system is a Bruker M4 Tornado Plus 26S Micro XRF unit, integrated into a modular workflow that runs from sample preparation through to automated analysis and data processing.

Critical Metals said the system is intended to support its proof-of-concept pilot plant at Tanbreez, enabling faster geological interpretation, improved grade control and more responsive operational decision-making as the project advances.

The facility comprises two customised 40-foot high-cube modular units designed for rapid deployment and relocation, allowing it to be used across exploration and development phases and potentially redeployed to other projects in future.

Supporting Tanbreez momentum

The investment builds on recent momentum at the Tanbreez Project, one of the world’s largest rare earth deposits, where Critical Metals is progressing pilot-scale activities as part of its pathway towards potential development.

European Lithium holds just under 45% of Critical Metals’ issued capital, giving the ASX-listed company leveraged exposure to Tanbreez alongside its lithium portfolio in Europe and Australia.

Chairman Tony Sage said the acquisition marked a “transformative milestone” for Critical Metals as it transitions Tanbreez from exploration into pre-mining pilot operations.

“Having the capability to perform laboratory-grade geochemical analysis directly at site is expected to significantly accelerate our data collection, sharpen real-time decision making, and strengthen our assessment of Tanbreez’s exceptional resource potential and long-term scalability,” Sage said.

Beyond speed and efficiency, the mobile laboratory has been configured to operate in Greenlandic conditions and incorporates dust control, safety systems and environmental safeguards designed to meet industrial occupational health and environmental standards.

By reducing reliance on off-site laboratories and minimising sample transport, the system is also expected to support environmental, social and governance (ESG) objectives, while contributing to the training and development of local Greenlandic personnel.

Critical Metals said the faster generation of reliable analytical data would support future drilling campaigns, assist with evaluating potential resource growth under SEC Regulation S-K 1300 requirements, and improve the timeliness of information provided to potential offtake partners and investors.

Commissioning and operation of the facility remain subject to applicable Greenland government and regulatory approvals.
