As the Greek saga continues to weave its merry dance, in focus in web world was also online food group Ocado (LON:OCDO), big supermarkets, and in small caps, San Leon Energy (LON:SLE).
Footsie is down 24 at the time of writing, and losses were not as heavy as some had feared. Indices in Germany and France were in fact climbing after yesterday's mega global sell-off.
As the countdown to Greece's repayment of a £1.1bn loan deadline to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) continues, which if it misses, means it's in default, the chatter is now of a last minute offer from Euro creditors.
According to the Greek press, the anti-austerity government may now be reconsidering last night´s proposal from EC president Jean Claude Juncker. The news looks to have calmed markets down a bit.
A referendum is due to take place in Greece on July 5 (Sunday) over whether the country should accept the creditors' proposals but this latest twist could throw some doubt over that.
Apparently, the on Greece leaving the Eurozone this year have gone overnight from 13/8 into 2/1 according to Paddy Power.
Elsewhere, shares in Tesco (LON:TSCO) and Morrison's (LON:MRW) slipped on Tuesday as the latest Kantar data came through showing the UK's grocery market slipped into decline in the second quarter of 2015.
Sales in the sector fell 0.1% year-on-year, aided by a 1.6% decline at both Tesco and Sainsbury's (LON:SBRY). Morrison's fared better though, as the grocer saw the largest sales increase among the 'big four' for the second month in succession.
Meanwhile, at online firm Ocado, there was a big 30% rise in new customers and the firm saw revenue and operating profit growth. Despite that, shares eased lower.
Elsewhere, shares in computer chip designer Imagination Technologies (LON:IMG) went over 2% higher as it saw strong licensing revenues across what it calls its intellectual property (IP) families in the year to end-March 2015.
The biggest riser in London was small cap gold miner Anglo Asian (LON:AAL), which shot up over 23% on the day after making gains on Monday too.
It told investors 2015 had started well and it expects gold production of between 70 and 75,000 ounces for the whole year.
That will be a 16 to 24% improvement on 2014, it said at the AGM today.
At Gedabek in Azerbaijan, output in the first half has been strong with first quarter 2015 production of 17,053 ounces of gold - a 52% increase on Q1 2014.
Shares in San Leon Energy (LON:SLE) also went a tad higher after the Irish firm’s results showed a “transformational” 2014.
Oisin Fanning, executive chairman of the group, said the company moved considerably closer to its production and cash flow goal last year, helped by decisive action to reduce costs.
On the losing front, Motive Television (LON:MTV) shed over 18% as the TabletTV firm revealed the cost of gearing up for the launch of its revolutionary mobile television product, as losses ballooned to £12.5mln, largely as a result of an £8mln write-down in the value of an acquisition made five years ago.
