NextSource Materials receives first equipment shipment for Abu Dhabi battery anode facility

NextSource Materials Inc. (TSX:NEXT, OTCQB:NSRCF) announced that the first shipment of equipment for its proposed Battery Anode Facility has arrived in Abu Dhabi, marking a milestone in the company’s plans to expand downstream processing capabilities.

The company said the shipment includes long-lead anode processing equipment that had been procured in advance. Securing and delivering these components ahead of installation is intended to support project timelines and reduce potential delays as the facility moves toward construction and commissioning.

According to NextSource, the equipment will be installed in a pre-existing industrial building located in the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi.

The use of an existing facility is expected to limit construction requirements and allow the company to focus capital spending and project execution on process installation and operational preparation.

The company also provided an update on engineering work for the project, noting that front-end engineering and design activities have advanced to the schematic design stage.

This phase is expected to further define plant design, capital costs, and execution planning, and will serve as an input into a future final investment decision.

NextSource said that, subject to a positive final investment decision, it plans to move forward with full equipment procurement, installation, commissioning, and ramp-up of the Battery Anode Facility under a phased development approach.

"The arrival of long-lead equipment in Abu Dhabi is a tangible demonstration of continued progress on our Battery Anode Facility,” NextSource CEO Hanré Rossouw said in a statement.

“Securing these items proves logistical supply chains into the UAE. With the ICAD building secured, we are strengthening the foundations for a disciplined and efficient development phase."

Canadian-listed shares of NextSource added 2.5% on Wednesday morning at $0.41.
